GARDILL

WALTER J.

Walter J. Gardill passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025. Formerly of Ingomar, he most recently resided at Paramount Senior Living in Peters Township.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Joan (Thompson) Gardill; his daughter, Barbara Bright; and his brother, Robert (Bob) Gardill. Surviving are his sister, Doris O'Keefe of Florida; son-in-law, Kevin Bright; and grandchildren, Chelsea Bright and Justin Bright and his wife, Sarah.

A U.S. Army veteran, Walt owned a business with his brother Bob before retiring from the North Hills School District. A man of faith, he and Joan served many years at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in West View.

Walt was curious by nature and loved learning how things worked. An avid gardener and collector, he found peace tending his vegetables and plants.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Paramount Senior Living for their loving care and friendship.

Family will welcome friends on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 388 Center Avenue, West View, PA 15229, where a service will follow visitation at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to St. Luke's Ev. Lutheran Church, 305 Center Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15229.
