WALTER K.

When the universe decided to say, "Hold my beer," Walter Lenz Jr. was born on a cold day in '52, in Lawrenceville, PA, to Elizabeth White and Walter Lenz, Sr. And thus, the Man, the Myth, the LEGEND, was created. His passing on November 24, 2025, was a return to the stars that had fascinated him since watching man's first launch into the great skies ... and subsequent explosions that have shaped him ever since. His daughter and son-in-law can only be relieved that the Republican Party has one less vote this upcoming election. Unlike his prior engagement to a Mafia princess in his 20s, reports of his death this time are factual and not a survival mechanism to escape the fallout of leaving her at the altar. Walt was renowned for telling it like it is, including multiple decades of mansplaining to all his female relatives and directions that he, himself, never followed. He was also known for his long and winding stories that were ultimately repeated multiple times over the years and blamed on his lifelong friend, Joe Yacone's, "early onset dementia." One of his greatest life achievements was the decades of time spent with the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority and the family gained through there. Years of dedication to charitable events and donations, including Stuff-a-Bus and Turkey Trots, make up for the fact that DoorDash is also mourning the loss of at least one percent of their overall sales this quarter. He is survived by his only child, Kristine Baker (Lenz), who spent five weeks of her life in the purgatory that was Fox News in the morning and ER reruns in the evening to allow him his only wish of staying home during this final journey, while also gleefully ordering from every food truck in the area. An Italian Stallion of a son-in-law, Justin Baker; and four wonderfully spicy grandchildren, Maddox and Marcus Silvis and Nadia and Nikolai Baker, finish his direct bloodline. Siblings, Valerie Lapcevic (Lenz) and Cheryl Johnstone (Lenz), are the two women who meant the most to him (besides his beautiful and talented nurse daughter), and may their epic world travelling tales never be told without at least one dry martini in his honor (shaken, not stirred). Honorable sibling mention includes Daniel, David, Darryl, Bonnie, and Lisa Lenz, and Robert and Mark Poelcher (deceased). Nieces, Amber Nagle, Rachel and Emily Lapcevic, and Jenna, Hunter, and Shae Johnstone were the bane and delight of his existence and will continue to screw with him even in the afterlife. A whole host of other nieces, nephews, great-somethings, and half-somethings are connected to this epic family bloodline. Friends, family, and mortal enemies came together to celebrate or lament his lack of fleshy existence at SYLVAN ABBEY FUNERAL HOME & MEMORIAL PARK, on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Donations can be made to the Palm Harbor food bank in his name, as no child going hungry was one of his greatest passions.
