WAYNE DAVID

Age 89, of McCandless Township, passed away on February 21, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Linda S. Dailey; loving father of Melissa Dailey (Timothy Stanton), Jonathan Dailey (Mary), and Andrew Dailey; and cherished grandfather of Timbre Stanton, Cadence Stanton, Dora Dailey, and Joseph Dailey. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Waford and Dora Dailey Jr.; as well as his brothers, Waford Denton Dailey III and David M. Dailey.

Wayne dedicated much of his life to service and hard work. He was a volunteer firefighter for 25 years with the Fairview Fire Department in Ross Township. A U.S. Army veteran, he was drafted while attending Slippery Rock University and served in the same division as Elvis Presley, though while Elvis drove a Jeep, Wayne drove a tank.

Wayne partially retired at age 63, but continued working for another 20 years at Fox Chapel United Presbyterian Church, where he maintained everything from the church itself, to the homes of the staff and ministers. His love for his family and animals was unwavering, and he always had a loyal dog by his side.

Friends will be received on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at SIMONS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 7720 Perry Highway, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 a.m.
