WILLARD V.

Age 94, of Glenshaw, passed into his Lord's presence on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. He was the devoted husband of 62 years to Barbara Logan Brown (deceased).

Loving father to Warren (Lynn) Brown of Carnegie, Marjorie (Craig) Linner of Pittsburgh, Beverly (Ciro) DeMarco of Moxee, WA, and Rebecca (Greg) Pletz of Gibsonia.

Survived by his grandchildren, Eric Brown, Alex (Melissa) Brown, Joshua Pletz, Rachael Pletz and Vanessa Pletz; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; his sister-in-law, Rosemary Brown; and loving friend, Lil Zeiler.

In addition to his parents, Charles Warren Brown (Iva Belle Straw); he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ellwood Brown (Beryl) and Glendon Brown (Rosemary).

Willard was born in Uniontown, PA. He graduated from Indiana University and the University of Pittsburgh with a master's degree in education. He also served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant.

He taught in the North Hills School District for 11 years before becoming principal at Ingomar Middle and Carson Middle Schools in the North Allegheny School District for 23 years.

In retirement, he traveled extensively. He volunteered his time as a handyman at Northgate Church and for many friends, family and neighbors. He enjoyed gardening, choral singing, camping and building balsa airplanes. He compassionately corresponded with many people through cards, letters and phone calls.

He will be lovingly remembered for his devotion to family and friends, and most importantly, his solid unshakable faith in the Lord.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Northgate Church. Condolences can be made at the church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be given to Northgate Church, 238 West View Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15229, Vision Appalachia, 131 Gene Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15237, or a charity of your choice.
