WILLIAM FREDERICK "FRED" ROPER Obituary

Conway - William Frederick "Fred" Roper, 81, of Conway, passed away on Monday evening, July 7, 2025, at Heritage Valley, Sewickley.

Born in Pittsburgh and raised in Avalon, Fred was a son of the late William and Eleanor Campbell. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Virginia "Jenny" Barkin.

For two decades, Fred was a dedicated employee of H.H. Robertson in Ambridge. When the mill closed, he embraced change and relocated to the place he would come to love, Disney World in Florida. There, he spent another 20 years before retiring in 2009.

Fred was known by his friends as a true Nascar aficionado and had a love of boating. His musical talents included playing the guitar and enjoying listening to "old time" country music.

Above all, his heart belonged to his family. He is survived by his loving daughter, Sharon (Steve) Brooks; and son, William F. Roper II. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Lindsay and Luke Brooks and Cody Roper.

SIMPSON FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, Monaca, 724-728-4000, are handling funeral arrangements.
